Most apps announce pricing after you're invested. We're publishing the exact boundary between free and paid before Notare+ is even built — so you can adopt Notare knowing precisely what the deal is.

What Notare+ will charge for

Exactly one category: things that require us to run servers for you. Every one of these has a free local equivalent that keeps working whether or not you pay.

E2E-encrypted cloud sync

Your Markdown, synced between machines through our relay — end-to-end encrypted, so we can't read a word of it. The free equivalent: your notes are plain files, sync them with anything (Obsidian Sync, Syncthing, git, iCloud).

Hosted transcription

Server-side STT for when you're on a machine without a GPU, or want larger models than your hardware runs comfortably. Local Whisper stays free and first-class — hosted is a fallback, not the default.

Hosted LLM summaries

Enhancement on our hosted models, for people who don't want to run Ollama or manage API keys. BYO endpoint remains free forever — if you have a key or a local model, you never need this.

Roaming voice profiles

Speaker-recognition profiles that follow you across devices, so "who said what" is solved on every machine without retraining. Per-device profiles stay local and free.

Pricing philosophy

Metered at cost plus a thin margin, with published rates, hard caps, and prepaid credits — no surprise bills.

  • Usage-based, not seat-based: pay for the minutes and tokens you actually use.
  • Rates published on this page before launch, and every change announced before it applies.
  • Hard caps you set yourself — when credits run out, hosted features pause. Nothing auto-tops-up.
  • Prepaid credits, not a subscription treadmill. Unused credits don't expire out from under you.

Everything that works locally is free. Forever. No feature you have today will ever move behind a paywall. Notare+ will sell convenience — hosted sync and models — never capability.
